Color and Type

Covering our last chapter in Design we learned all about typography’s role in design. If type and background colors are similar they will create a similar spatial depth. If the color of type and the background color are complementary colors then the color will have different spatial depths. This creates more contrast. The type should always be readable. Color can be used for coding. Certain colors link to certain components. Colors are used to designate assigned subjects in projects. Color can change the feeling and meaning of text. The color chosen may effect its relationship in hierarchy.
